This Season, Celebrate 10 Years of Blessed Divine Creations, Explore Local Events, and Discover Resources to Support Native Communities

Updated: 11 hours ago

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Midwest Mujeres Community

This Thanksgiving we are feeling extra grateful for you! Your energy and support fuel our mission, and we are so lucky to have you in our corner as we work to close the gender wage gap. Thank you for being an integral part of this journey.

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we recognize the everlasting impact of Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian communities and their role in shaping our nation. It's a time to acknowledge our nation's history and the lasting effects of past injustices while embracing the strength we all share to stand up and do the work together.

Native American veterans, who serve in the U.S. military at one of the highest rates of any ethnic group, also deserve our honor.

As the holiday season approaches, we hope your days are filled with meaningful moments of connection and courage. This time of year often invites us to focus on what matters mostā€”whether it's family, community, or the journey ahead. Sincere conversations are always worth having, and if ever you need a supportive network, Midwest Mujeres is here for you, always rooting for your growth and success. For those ready to take the next step in business, weā€™re here to help you every step of the way. In today's edition, we are excited to share an upcoming local event!

Celebrate a Decade of Creativity with Paquita Purnell and Blessed Divine Creations!

Paquita Purnell, proud owner and founder of Blessed Divine Creations LLC, is celebrating 10 years of custom creations alongside her mother, Paulette. To mark this incredible milestone, they are hosting a magical Masquerade Ball in Janesville, WI.

Date:Ā Saturday, December 7th

Time:Ā 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Location:Ā AmericInn Ballroom 3900 Milton Ave Janesville, WI 53545

Age:Ā 21+

Free Parking Available!

What began in 2010 with Paquita crafting a special Easter basket for her daughter has grown into a thriving business! After sharing her talent with her church, Paquitaā€™s love for her craft has turned into a decade of creativity, faith, and community. This event celebrates the amazing journey and the community that has supported her every step of the way!

As we celebrate Paquitaā€™s journey, we also want to shine a light on the organizations and resources that have played a key role in her success. Paquitaā€™s achievements were made possible with guidance and support from impactful organizations like Rock County Jumpstart, Upstart University of Wisconsin, WWBIC, the Progress Center for Black Women, and our own Midwest Mujeres Be Bold and Take the MicĀ program.

Take the time to explore these valuable resources by visiting their websites. They are here to support your growth as an entrepreneur and community leader.

At Midwest Mujeres, we are so proud of Paquita. She embodies the spirit of what it means to be bold. Her story is one that resonates with so many, and weā€™re grateful to have found each other along the way. Paquitaā€™s journey through our Be Bold and Take the MicĀ program was about more than just business tipsā€”it was about finding her voice, sharing her truth, and stepping into the fullness of who she is.

Through the program, Paquita learned to elevate her message and step confidently into the spotlight. As she puts it,

ā€œPeople knew me as Paquita the entrepreneur... Midwest Mujeres helped me present myself and shine as Paquita the person. My story resonated with many, and now the business is known for me."
