About the event
Derechos en Acción: What You Need to Know to Stay Protected
Join Midwest Mujeres for an evening rooted in community, knowledge, and empowerment. We begin with our signature Women’s Circle at 5 PM, creating a space to ground, reflect, and connect with one another.
At 6 PM, we transition into a Know Your Rights session led by Alayna Connolly, an attorney and Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow at the Community Immigration Law Center (CILC).
Alayna works directly with unaccompanied children navigating immigration cases and brings both legal expertise and deep care for our communities.
This session will walk through essential information to help you understand your rights, stay protected, and make informed decisions for yourself and your family. Whether you are navigating systems, supporting a loved one, or simply want to be prepared, this gathering is for you. Come as you are—no prior knowledge needed—just a willingness to learn, ask questions,…
